Get ready for another round of heat.

Most of central and eastern Nebraska is in a heat advisory starting Friday, and the eastern half of the state also will be in a heat advisory Saturday.

Actual temperatures could approach triple digits in Lincoln and Omaha, with heat indexes near 110 in some spots.

Western Nebraska is not in a heat advisory, but it will still be hot, with McCook, Scottsbluff and Chadron all forecast to hit 100 degrees at least once from Thursday-Saturday.

Most areas of the state are likely to see several days of temperatures in the 90s starting Thursday. And nighttime lows will only drop into the mid to upper 70s, providing limited relief from the heat.

“Multiple days of high heat and humidity can contribute to heat-related illnesses,” the National Weather Service office in Hastings said in a bulletin.
