Catrinas, painted horses, and community unity light up the Día de los Muertos parade (Day of the Dead Parade) on Omaha’s South 24th Street this October.

Omaha, NE — The community is coming together to honor life and memory with a vibrant Día de los Muertos Parade on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 5:00 to 6:00 PM along South 24th Street from M to O Streets.

The event promises to be an evening filled with color, tradition, and unity. Attendees will enjoy the sight of elegant catrinas and catrines, painted horses, floats, and more, all celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Día de los Muertos. Families are encouraged to attend and take part in this magical experience.

Organizers note that while the parade permit runs from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, the main procession will take place between 5:00 and 6:00 PM. Participation is free and open to all, with registration available for community members and groups who wish to join the parade.

Currently, the parade does not have official sponsors. Instead, it is being made possible through the efforts and dedication of local residents who believe in the power of unity. “We want all kinds of groups to come together to create something beautiful, especially at a time when community unity is so valuable,” organizers said.
