Families in Omaha have several city pools opening for the 2026 summer season, with most locations starting June 1 and others scheduled to open later in the week.

Omaha public pools are beginning their summer schedule, giving families and residents more options to cool off as June starts. Several municipal pools are open from June 1 through Aug. 9, while Karen Pool and Spring Lake Pool are scheduled to begin their season June 5.

The City of Omaha also announced a few schedule changes before the season opened. Hanscom Pool will welcome guests earlier than originally planned, while Camelot Pool will remain closed for the 2026 season because of a filtration tank failure. Gallagher Pool and Zorinsky Pool will have delayed openings while repairs continue.

Several Omaha public pools open June 1

Many of Omaha’s outdoor pools begin their season Monday, June 1, with daily hours that vary by location.

Deer Ridge Pool, Elkhorn Pool, Elmwood Pool, Hitchcock Pool, Miller Pool, Oak Heights Pool and Roanoke Pool are all scheduled to operate from June 1 through Aug. 9.

Hanscom Pool will also open June 1, ahead of its original June 5 opening date. Its season is scheduled to run through Aug. 2.

For families planning around work schedules, summer camps or weekend activities, the city’s pool calendar includes a mix of afternoon, evening and midday hours across different neighborhoods.

Hanscom Pool opens earlier than expected

Hanscom Pool, located at 3110 Ed Creighton Blvd., will open Monday, June 1, instead of Friday, June 5.

The pool will be open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Its season is scheduled from June 1 through Aug. 2.

The earlier opening gives residents another pool option at the start of the summer season, especially for families looking for morning and early afternoon swim times.

Karen Pool and Spring Lake Pool begin June 5

Two Omaha pools are scheduled to open later in the week.

Karen Pool, located at 6288 H St., will be open from June 5 through Aug. 2. Its daily hours will be 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Spring Lake Pool, located at 4020 Hoctor Blvd., will also operate from June 5 through Aug. 2. It will be open daily from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Families planning a pool visit during the first week of June should check the opening date for each location before heading out.

Camelot Pool remains closed for the 2026 season

Camelot Pool will not open during the 2026 season because of a filtration tank failure.

The city also reported delayed openings for Gallagher Pool and Zorinsky Pool while staff continue repairs. Opening dates for those two locations were not included in the update.

Residents who usually visit Camelot, Gallagher or Zorinsky can choose from the city pools already scheduled to open in June.
