Information about the postponed Colombian Mobile Consulate event in Omaha

Updated Aug. 14, 2026.

The one-day event scheduled for Saturday has been temporarily postponed. A new date, location and service process have not been announced.

The Consulate General of Colombia in Chicago has temporarily postponed the mobile consulate event scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 15, in Omaha.

The event will not take place this Saturday. The Consulate has not announced a replacement date or confirmed where the rescheduled event will be held.

The change affects Colombian citizens in Omaha and other Nebraska communities who expected to complete consular procedures without traveling to Chicago.

The Aug. 15 event will not take place

The postponement is temporary and does not represent a permanent cancellation of the Omaha visit. A new announcement is expected after another date is selected.

The Consulate had not confirmed a location, hours, available services or appointment process for the Aug. 15 event. Those details remain pending and will need to be included when the visit is rescheduled.

Officials also have not said whether the event will be held later in 2026 or whether the change will affect other stops on the mobile consulate calendar.

Materials from previous visits to the College of Saint Mary do not establish the location of the next Omaha event. Services held there on Aug. 2 and 3 were part of a 2024 visit.

A new announcement will include the date and location

When the event is rescheduled, the Consulate is expected to publish the Omaha address, operating hours, appointment system and list of available services.

Services can vary between mobile events. Previous visits have offered passports, consular identification cards, signature acknowledgments, travel authorizations for minors and proof-of-life certificates. That list does not confirm which procedures will be available during the next Nebraska event.

The Consulate’s official postponement notice states that new dates will be announced.
