OMAHA, Nebraska — Academia Latinos Unidos is offering adult computer classes in Omaha for people who are learning from the beginning or want to strengthen basic digital skills.
The classes cover computer basics, keyboard and mouse use, internet navigation, email, documents and other digital tools used in everyday life.
Students can also use laptops during class, so participants do not need to bring their own laptop to take part in the hands-on lessons.
Classes are offered at Academia Latinos Unidos, located at 4611 S. 96th St., Omaha, NE 68127, near the Enterprise Center.
Classes begin with basic computer skills
The program is designed for adults with little or no experience using computers, as well as students who already know some basic functions and want to become more comfortable using technology.
Skills covered in the computer classes include:
- Basic computer use.
- Keyboard and mouse skills.
- Internet navigation.
- Email.
- Creating and working with documents.
- Digital communication tools.
Academia Latinos Unidos offers computer instruction at different levels and adjusts lessons to the pace of each student.
Recent class information from the academy also identifies beginner courses and additional levels for students who want to continue building their skills.
Students can use laptops during computer classes
Academia Latinos Unidos provides laptops for students to use during computer classes.
That allows participants to practice in class even if they do not have their own laptop to bring with them.
The lessons focus on practical skills that can be used in daily life, from sending an email and working with documents to navigating online services.
The academy also offers other adult education programs, including English, citizenship preparation, Spanish classes and personal-development courses.
