LINCOLN, Nebraska — Nebraska’s final regular Summer EBT mailing of 2026 was scheduled for Sept. 10, putting a one-time grocery benefit of $120 for each eligible child into its last regular distribution round of the year.
The mailing date is not the same as the delivery date. Nebraska DHHS says Summer EBT cards can take up to 10 business days to arrive, so some households included in the final round may still be waiting later in September.
The 2026 application period closed Aug. 12. That deadline does not cancel benefits for children who had already been determined eligible or whose approved information was included in the final issuance.
Final $120 Summer EBT cards can take 10 business days to arrive
Nebraska mails Summer EBT cards to the address available through DHHS, the child’s school or an approved Summer EBT application.
A household should not expect the card to arrive on the same day benefits are issued. DHHS says delivery can take up to 10 business days after mailing.
Benefits for multiple eligible children in the same household are generally combined on one card issued to the head of household. Foster children receive cards in their own names.

The expiration period is tied to the benefit’s issuance date, not the day a household receives or activates the card.
Unused Summer EBT benefits cannot be restored after they expire.
Nebraska DHHS maintains the full Summer EBT issuance and expiration schedule for all 2026 rounds.
The final mailing is not a second $120 payment
Summer EBT provides one payment of $120 per eligible child for the 2026 summer period.
The Sept. 10 round does not give another $120 to households that already received their 2026 Summer EBT benefit.
The final distribution can include eligible students identified through qualifying public assistance programs, school records or Summer EBT applications approved before the application period closed.
A household with two eligible children can receive $240. Three eligible children can bring the total benefit to $360.
The 2026 Summer EBT application period remains closed
Nebraska stopped accepting applications for the 2026 Summer EBT period on Aug. 12.
Some children did not need a separate application because their eligibility was established through SNAP, ADC/TANF, FDPIR, qualifying income-based Medicaid programs or school meal eligibility.
The closed application period does not prevent Nebraska from delivering benefits that were already approved for 2026.
Lost or damaged cards can be replaced through Dec. 27
A lost, stolen or damaged Summer EBT card can be reported through EBT card service at 877-247-6328.
For cards issued in the final Sept. 10 round, Nebraska sets Dec. 27 as the replacement-card cutoff.
