NEBRASKA — Nebraska’s Junk Jaunt 2026 continues Saturday, Sept. 26, and wraps up Sunday, Sept. 27, with garage sales, antiques, secondhand goods and vendors spread across more than 40 communities in central Nebraska.
There is no single starting point. Visitors can join the route from different communities, cover only part of the circuit or use the final day to visit several towns.
Highway 2, Highway 11 and Highway 91 form some of the main travel corridors. The route also connects communities along and around the Sandhills Journey Byway and Loup Rivers Scenic Byway.
Junk Jaunt ends Sunday, Sept. 27
The 2026 event takes place during the final full weekend of September.
- Friday, Sept. 25: First day of the event.
- Saturday, Sept. 26: Second day of the route.
- Sunday, Sept. 27: Final day of Junk Jaunt 2026.
There is no single schedule for every sale. Each vendor sets individual opening and closing times, meaning two locations in the same community may operate on different schedules.
Anyone planning to head out Sunday should check individual vendor information before traveling, especially if a specific sale is the main destination.
More than 40 communities are part of the route
Junk Jaunt covers a large rural section of central Nebraska, connecting cities, small towns, state highways and scenic routes.
| Area | Some communities |
|---|---|
| Highway 2 | Grand Island, Cairo, Ravenna, Broken Bow, Dunning, Halsey and Thedford |
| Highway 11 | Wood River, Cairo, Dannebrog, North Loup, Ord and Burwell |
| Highway 91 | Burwell, Ericson, Taylor, Dunning and Brewster |
| Inside the loop | Arcadia, Ashton, Boelus, Comstock, Farwell, Loup City, Rockville and Sargent |
| East and west of the main route | St. Paul, Greeley, Wolbach, Bartlett, Arnold and Callaway |
The official Nebraska’s Junk Jaunt map shows the route and participating communities.
The Shopper Guide includes maps and registered vendors
The 2026 Junk Jaunt Shopper Guide includes addresses for registered vendors, community maps and descriptions of items available at many sales.
The digital version remains available for download and is approximately 150 pages and 37 MB. The PDF can be used on phones and other devices and allows users to search for specific terms to help locate vendors or items.
Printed copies are also available at selected businesses in communities along the route while supplies last.
Organizers maintain a list of locations carrying printed copies. Communities with distribution points include Broken Bow, Burwell, Cairo, Grand Island, Ord, Ravenna, St. Paul and Wood River.
Cash can still be useful at many sales
Junk Jaunt organizers note that many garage sales and mobile food vendors do not accept credit cards or checks, so carrying cash can make purchases easier along the route.
Downloading the Shopper Guide before leaving can also help travelers keep maps, addresses and vendor descriptions available while moving between communities.
Sunday should be mostly dry in Ord, but morning fog is possible
Weather conditions can vary across the wide Junk Jaunt route.
In Ord, one of the central points along the route, mostly cloudy conditions are expected through the rest of Saturday.
For Sunday, the forecast calls for areas of dense fog before 11 a.m., followed by mostly cloudy skies and a high near 72°F. The daytime forecast does not currently include rain.
Morning fog could reduce visibility on some rural roads, so drivers should check local conditions before leaving.
Because Junk Jaunt covers a large section of central Nebraska, conditions may differ between Grand Island, Broken Bow, Burwell, Ord, Thedford and other communities.
Current road conditions, construction and incidents can be checked through the Nebraska 511 map from the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
Some stops bring multiple vendors together
In addition to individual garage sales, several communities have locations where multiple vendors are gathered in one place.
Registered 2026 locations include the Custer County Fairgrounds in Broken Bow, Kamp Kaleo in Burwell, the Cairo Community Center and public spaces in Dannebrog, among others.
These locations can make it easier to visit several sellers during one stop before continuing to another community.

Sales continue Sunday, Sept. 27, although each vendor keeps its own schedule.

Before heading out, visitors may want to review the map, choose the communities they plan to visit and confirm hours for specific vendors. The 2026 Shopper Guide remains the official tool for locating registered sales during the final day of the event.
