LOVB Nebraska won six of its 10 home matches and swept Salt Lake in Grand Island, but a five-set loss to Austin left the team outside the four-team playoffs.
OMAHA, NE — LOVB Nebraska completed its second professional volleyball season with a 10-10 record, finishing fifth in the League One Volleyball standings.
The team doubled its win total from its 5-11 inaugural regular season in 2025. However, Nebraska missed the 2026 playoffs after Austin and Salt Lake claimed the final two postseason positions through the league’s tiebreaking procedures.
Nebraska played 10 home matches, nine road matches and one neutral-site match during the regular season. Baxter Arena hosted nine home dates, while Heartland Events Center in Grand Island held the remaining home match.
The season began Jan. 7 with a five-set loss at Austin and ended April 4 with another five-set loss to the same opponent in Omaha.

The season began Jan. 7 against defending champion Austin
LOVB Nebraska opened the season Jan. 7 in Texas with a rematch of the 2025 LOVB Finals against defending champion LOVB Austin.
Austin won the five-set match 22-25, 25-20, 22-25, 25-22 and 15-9. Nebraska returned to Omaha four days later and defeated LOVB Houston in five sets during its home opener at Baxter Arena.
The Jan. 7 date corrects the initial schedule listing that identified the opening match as Jan. 8.
Nebraska earned three wins during January, defeating Houston, Atlanta and Madison. The team then lost five of its six matches in February, with its only victory that month coming in five sets at Houston.

Grand Island hosted professional volleyball for the first time
LOVB Nebraska played its March 7 home match against Salt Lake at Heartland Events Center in Grand Island. The match brought LOVB regular-season volleyball outside the Omaha area for the first time.
Nebraska defeated Salt Lake in three sets, 29-27, 25-16 and 25-22. The victory began a stretch in which Nebraska won seven of its final nine regular-season matches.
The Grand Island match was the only Nebraska home date held away from Baxter Arena. The remaining nine home matches took place in Omaha.
Nebraska finished fifth after a three-team tie
LOVB Nebraska entered its final match with a chance to reach the playoffs. Austin defeated Nebraska in five sets at Baxter Arena, winning 22-25, 26-24, 25-19, 22-25 and 15-10.
The result left Austin, Salt Lake and Nebraska with identical 10-10 records. League tiebreakers placed Austin third, Salt Lake fourth and Nebraska fifth. Only the first four teams advanced to the postseason.
Nebraska finished with a 41-40 record in sets. The team also improved from five regular-season victories in 2025 to 10 in 2026.
The final match also marked the end of Jordan Larson’s professional playing career. Larson recorded 19 kills and 20 digs during her last appearance.

The 2027 LOVB Nebraska schedule has not been announced
LOVB had not released Nebraska’s 2027 match dates, opponents or home schedule as of Aug. 22.
The league is accepting $100 deposits per account for 2027 season memberships. Deposits provide priority access to seat selection after ticket options become available.
