The consulate serving Mexican nationals in Nebraska and Iowa will begin operating at 330 N. 117th St. in Omaha on Aug. 1, 2026.

Omaha, NE – The Mexican Consulate in Omaha will move to a new location beginning Saturday, Aug. 1.

The office provides consular services to Mexican nationals living in Nebraska and Iowa, including residents who travel to Omaha from Des Moines, Council Bluffs, Sioux City and other communities across the two states.

Consular services will move to the new Omaha office

The Omaha consulate handles Mexican passport applications, consular identification cards, Mexican voter credentials, civil registry matters and emergency assistance.

Appointments are required for many procedures. Available dates depend on the service requested, and document requirements and fees vary by appointment type.

The move changes the physical location of the Omaha office. The consulate has not posted changes to its appointment system or announced a separate schedule for the new location.

The Omaha consulate serves Nebraska and Iowa

The consulate’s jurisdiction covers both states. Mexican nationals living in Iowa may complete eligible procedures through the Omaha office rather than traveling to a consulate in another region.

Services available through the consulate include passports, consular identification cards, birth registrations, powers of attorney, voter credentials and assistance during emergencies involving Mexican nationals.

Some services may require original documents, identification, proof of nationality or payment of a consular fee. Requirements depend on the procedure being completed.
