The Colombian Mobile Consulate will visit Omaha on Saturday, August 15, 2026, bringing consular services closer to Colombian citizens living in Nebraska.
The visit is part of the 2026 mobile-service schedule organized by the Consulate General of Colombia in Chicago, whose jurisdiction includes Nebraska, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Wisconsin, North Dakota and South Dakota.
The Omaha location, hours of operation, available services and appointment process remain pending. Those details are expected to be confirmed in the weeks before the event.
Dates and locations on the consular calendar are subject to change. Materials from previous years do not apply to the 2026 visit.

The Omaha visit is scheduled for Saturday, August 15
Omaha will host one of 12 mobile consulate events scheduled in 2026 within the jurisdiction of the Consulate General of Colombia in Chicago.
The calendar began in February with a visit to Detroit and continued with events in Minneapolis, St. Louis, Columbus, Indianapolis, Kansas City and Madison.
After Omaha, the schedule includes visits to Cleveland, Kenosha, Minneapolis and St. Louis between September and December.
Mobile consulates allow Colombian citizens to complete certain procedures without traveling to the consular offices in Chicago. Available services vary by city, capacity and the organization of each event.
The location and hours have not yet been announced
The Consulate of Colombia has not yet released the Omaha address for the August 15 event.
It also has not confirmed whether services will be available by appointment, on a first-come, first-served basis or through a combination of both systems.
Other 2026 mobile consulates have offered passport services, consular identification cards, signature acknowledgments, travel authorizations for minors and proof-of-life certificates. That list does not confirm which services will be available in Omaha.
Requirements, fees and accepted payment methods also depend on the requested procedure. Missing required documents could prevent a transaction from being completed during the event.
The August 2024 flyer does not apply to the 2026 event
A flyer circulating among members of the Colombian community lists service at the College of Saint Mary on August 2 and 3.
That information applies to the mobile consulate held in Omaha in 2024 and does not confirm the location or hours for the 2026 visit.
The new event is scheduled for one day only: Saturday, August 15. Until the full announcement is released, there is no confirmation that services will return to the College of Saint Mary.
Previous notices also do not confirm which procedures will be offered this year or whether walk-in service will be available.
Regular consular services are handled through the Chicago office
Nebraska is part of the jurisdiction of the Consulate General of Colombia in Chicago.
The consular office is located at 333 North Michigan Avenue, Suite 1200, Chicago, Illinois 60601. Regular public-service hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Regular procedures in Chicago require an appointment, except for proof-of-life certificates and the pickup of completed documents.
Standard appointments are requested by text message at 312-202-3299. The system accepts requests on Mondays and Tuesdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time.
That process applies to regular service in Chicago and does not confirm the system that will be used for the Omaha mobile consulate.

The final notice is expected to include the address, hours, appointment process, available procedures and requirements for each service.
The calendar and future updates are available through the consular services section of the Consulate of Colombia in Chicago.
