Stadiums, museums, radio studios, cultural organizations and working facilities across Omaha will welcome visitors from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 8.

OMAHA, NE — Open Omaha 2026 will give the public free access to 49 locations across the city Saturday, including Charles Schwab Field Omaha, CHI Health Center Omaha, El Museo Latino, Comunidad Maya Pixan Ixim and Omaha Central High School.
The one-day event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8. Admission is free, the program is open to all ages and visitors can create their own route among the participating locations.
The original roster included 50 venues. MidAmerican Energy Adventure Tower is now closed and will not participate, leaving 49 available stops.
Some locations will offer access to spaces that are not typically part of their regular public hours. Others will provide tours, demonstrations or activities connected to their work.

Charles Schwab Field and CHI Health Center open behind the scenes
Charles Schwab Field Omaha will give visitors a behind-the-scenes look at the home of the Men’s College World Series and Creighton baseball. The stadium’s new video boards and ribbon panels will also be on display.
Nearby, CHI Health Center Omaha will offer mini-guided tours of the arena. Visitors will be able to see areas beyond the seating bowl and view the venue’s new scoreboards.
The downtown portion of the event also includes The RiverFront, KANEKO, Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts, Hot Shops Art Center, The Downtown Omaha Oasis and architectural or development spaces such as The Arthur, Catalyst Omaha and Millwork Commons’ Ashton Building.
El Museo Latino and Comunidad Maya anchor a South Omaha route
Two participating cultural organizations are located along South 25th Street.
El Museo Latino, at 4701 S. 25th St., will offer free admission during Open Omaha. Current exhibitions include “Tajimal K’in: Festival of the Sun,” a collective photography exhibition featuring Cristina Kahlo, Marcos García and Marco Girón, and “Textiles of Latin America.”
A short distance south, Comunidad Maya Pixan Ixim is located at 4913 S. 25th St., Suite 1. The Maya-led organization works in community development, cultural preservation and the health and well-being of Maya families in Omaha and traditional Maya territory.
Other arts and cultural locations participating Saturday include Gallery 1516, The Union for Contemporary Art, The Rose Theater, Omaha Community Playhouse, Benson Theatre and Tenaska Center for Arts Engagement.
KIOS visitors can record a radio promo and tour the studios
KIOS 91.5 Omaha Public Radio will open its studios at 3230 Burt St. for self-guided visits throughout the day.
Visitors can watch radio production, step behind a microphone and record a station promotion. KIOS plans to use some of the recordings in compilations broadcast after the event.
The station will also display its jazz collection and share its history, which began in 1969 as a broadcasting class in the basement of Omaha Central High School. Members of the KIOS team will be available, and “Lives” host Stuart Chittenden plans to record interviews with visitors for future episodes.
KVNO, Omaha’s classical radio station, is also among the participating venues.
Recycling, food systems and public services join the open house
Open Omaha extends beyond museums and performance spaces.
First Star Recycling, at 10330 I St., will provide a look inside its materials recovery facility and its process for turning plastic collected through the orange-bag program into plastic lumber.
The First Star tour is designed primarily for middle school-age visitors and older. Long pants and closed-toe shoes are required inside the facility, and each tour lasts approximately one hour.
No More Empty Pots Food Hub, Food Bank for the Heartland, Metro Transit, OPPD Arboretum and Omaha Mounted Patrol Barn are also opening their spaces.
The participating organizations give visitors access to the facilities behind food distribution, public transportation, recycling, urban forestry and city services that are usually encountered only through their finished work.

The current roster includes:
- Arts, museums and performance: Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts, Benson Theatre, Crook House Museum, El Museo Latino, Gallery 1516, Hot Shops Art Center, KANEKO, Omaha Community Playhouse, Project Project, Tenaska Center for Arts Engagement, The Rose Theater and The Union for Contemporary Art.
- Sports, education and civic spaces: B&B Sports Academy, Boys Town Hall of History, Central High School, Charles Schwab Field Omaha, CHI Health Center Omaha, Metro Transit, Omaha Mounted Patrol Barn and The RiverFront.
- Community organizations and working facilities: Child Saving Institute, Comunidad Maya Pixan Ixim, First Star Recycling, Food Bank for the Heartland, Girl Scout DreamLab, KIOS Omaha Public Radio, KVNO Omaha’s Classical Radio, No More Empty Pots Food Hub and OPPD Arboretum.
- Architecture, design and development: Alvine Corporate Headquarters; Alley Poyner Macchietto Architecture and LALA at the Tip Top; Blackstone Plaza: The Cloud Room; BVH Architecture; Catalyst Omaha; Clover24 Omaha; Cordia; Hardy Coffee Co. The Open Omaha map identifies parking and accessibility
The Open Omaha app includes the participating addresses, an interactive map and information about activities at individual venues. Printed event guides will also be available at the participating locations.
Accessibility icons identify venues that reported ADA-accessible routes, restrooms, seating and onsite parking. Questions about access at a particular location can be directed to that venue.
