GRETNA, Nebraska — Vala’s Pumpkin Patch & Apple Orchard is open every day through Sunday, Nov. 1, 2026, in Gretna, Sarpy County.
General admission includes access to more than 50 attractions, three live shows each day and the hayrack ride to the pumpkin field. Every visitor age 3 and older needs a ticket; children age 2 and younger enter free.

Tickets are nonrefundable and expire when the 2026 season ends Nov. 1. Current availability and prices are listed through the official Vala’s 2026 ticket portal.
Vala’s also schedules discount days for certain groups. Awana participants and their families can purchase $13.50 admission on Sept. 22 when the student wears an Awana shirt or part of the organization’s uniform. Members of 4-H and their families can receive the same rate Sept. 24 with proof of membership.
Active-duty military personnel and their families can purchase $23 tickets through the Information Tickets & Travel office at Offutt Air Force Base. Vala’s does not sell the military tickets at its entrance.
General admission covers more than 50 attractions
The admission price covers the farm’s primary attractions, including Pumpkin Creek Train, Jan’s Carousel, Pony Express, Freya’s Egg Spinners, Tim’s Runaway Grain Wagons and the hayrack ride to the pumpkin field.
Play areas, mazes and seasonal walk-through attractions are also included. Among them are Jumping Pillow, Egg Scramble, the three-acre corn maze, Haunted Farmhouse, Pumpkin Lights Trail and Barnyard Challenge Course.
Height requirements apply to several rides. Closed-toe shoes are required for attractions including the pedal trikes, Pumpkinapolis 500 Carts and Tim’s Runaway Grain Wagons.
The 2026 entertainment schedule includes Pigtucky Derby Pig Races, Pumpkin-Eating Dragon Show, Candy Cannon, Harvest Moon Cinema and Firefly Drone Show. The drone show runs Wednesday through Saturday approximately 30 minutes before closing. The final September fireworks show is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 25, at 9 p.m.
Pumpkins, apple picking and four activities cost extra
The hayrack ride to the pumpkin field is included, but pumpkins are not. Pumpkins cost 59 cents per pound and are paid for at the exit.
Apple picking also carries an additional charge. Visitors need to purchase a bag before boarding the tractor ride to the orchard. Bags start at $12.99 for a half peck, or approximately five pounds, and up to four people can pick apples with one half-peck bag.
Apple picking begins at 10 a.m. During September, the orchard closes to U-Pick visitors at 5:15 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. On most other days, it closes at 6:30 p.m. or sunset.
Apple Blasters, Farmageddon Paintball Shootout, Gemstone Mining and pony rides also require an additional payment. Pony rides are limited to children age 12 and younger.
Visitors age 14 and younger need a chaperone after 4 p.m.
Vala’s does not enforce a general chaperone requirement between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. From 4 p.m. until closing, visitors age 14 and younger must remain with an adult age 19 or older for the duration of their visit.
Pets are not allowed, except for service animals. Visitors may bring their own food and nonalcoholic drinks, but outside alcohol is prohibited.
Same-day reentry is allowed. Visitors leaving the farm need to request a wristband at the exit and show it when they return.
Most purchases require cards or mobile payments
Food stands, retail locations and separately priced attractions operate primarily without cash. Major credit and debit cards are accepted, along with mobile payments such as Apple Pay and Google Pay.
The main admission windows accept cash. Several locations inside the farm can also convert cash into a Vala’s gift card for purchases. Pony rides continue to accept cash.
Vala’s remains open during rain unless conditions become unsafe. Visits interrupted by poor weather do not qualify for refunds or rain checks.
Many pathways are accessible to wheelchairs, and the farm has accessible hayracks and a wheelchair-accessible train car. Wheelchairs, strollers and mobility scooters are not available to rent.
Vala’s sits between Omaha and Lincoln near Interstate 80
Vala’s Pumpkin Patch is located at 12102 S. 180th St. in Gretna, approximately 25 minutes southwest of Omaha and 45 minutes northeast of Lincoln.
Most visits last between three and eight hours. The hayrack trip to the pumpkin field can take approximately 45 minutes, while the apple-picking experience generally requires another 30 to 45 minutes.
