OMAHA AND LINCOLN, Nebraska — Job seekers will have two opportunities to meet directly with employers on Thursday, Sept. 17, with career fairs scheduled the same afternoon in Omaha and Lincoln.
Puertas Abiertas Job Fair will run from 3 to 6 p.m. in South Omaha. At the same time, the Welcoming Neighbors Career Fair will open in Lincoln with employers from multiple industries and interpreters available for attendees.
The Lincoln event is especially designed for foreign-born professionals and job seekers, including new Americans, immigrants and asylees. Attendees will be able to speak with employers and share their work experience and résumés.
Puertas Abiertas will connect job seekers with employers in South Omaha
Puertas Abiertas Job Fair will take place Thursday, Sept. 17, at Heartland Workforce Solutions, 4425 S. 24th St. in Omaha.

The event will connect job seekers with employers that have open positions. Puertas Abiertas also focuses on high-skill, high-wage and high-demand jobs, along with positions where limited English proficiency may not prevent someone from working.

Lincoln career fair will offer interpreters for job seekers
In Lincoln, the Welcoming Neighbors Career Fair will also run from 3 to 6 p.m. Sept. 17 at the Jayne Snyder Trails Center.

The American Job Center will bring together employers from several industries with foreign-born professionals and other job seekers.
Interpreters will be available during the event. Attendees will also be able to share their work experience and provide résumés directly to participating employers.
The career fair is part of Welcoming Week activities in Lincoln and will also include international music and food.
Both fairs will give job seekers direct access to employers
Each event will run for three hours and focus on face-to-face connections between job seekers and employers with available opportunities.
A complete list of participating employers or open positions has not been published for both fairs. Available jobs may therefore span several industries and experience levels.
