
Schuyler, NE – Cinco de Schuyler returns May 1-3 with a weekend full of live music, food and shopping vendors, carnival attractions, cultural performances and family-friendly activities.
The annual celebration, organized with the Schuyler Area Chamber of Commerce, will bring the community together for three days of entertainment, contests and traditions that highlight the local Latino community and the families who help make Schuyler a vibrant place to live.

Friday opens with carnival activities, Ray Bustamante and Miss Latina Schuyler
The celebration begins Friday, May 1, when the festival opens at 6 p.m. Activities will include carnival fun, food and shopping vendors, mechanical bull rides and train rides. Some attractions, including the mechanical bull and train rides, are listed with an additional cost.
The evening schedule includes the Beer Mug Chug Relay at 6:30 p.m., followed by live music from Ray Bustamante at 7:30 p.m.
At 9 p.m., the Opening Night Grand Show will take place alongside the crowning of Miss Latina Schuyler 2026. La Esencia de la Banda de Joey Camarillo will close the night with a performance at 10 p.m.

Saturday features kids activities, eating contests and folklórico
Saturday, May 2, begins at 1 p.m. with the festival opening for the day. Families can enjoy the carnival, food and shopping vendors, the Cinco de Schuyler Community Mural Experience, mechanical bull rides and train rides.
The afternoon will include several community contests and children’s activities. The Churro Chump Eating Competition starts at 1 p.m., followed by a Kids Foam Party, balloon art, human foosball, Whack A Mole and Animal Kingdom at 2 p.m.
At 2:30 p.m., the Blindfolded Guac Attack Eating Competition will take place. The Best Salsa Competition is scheduled for 3:30 p.m., followed by the Nachos Overload Showdown Eating Competition at 4 p.m.
The Hispanic Art Center of Omaha will present a folklórico performance at 6:30 p.m. Live music continues with Grupo Doble G at 8 p.m., the Grito & Zapateado Competition at 9:45 p.m. and La Cultura Norteña at 10 p.m.

Sunday brings outdoor Mass, dancing horses and regional music
The final day of Cinco de Schuyler begins Sunday, May 3, at noon with food and shopping vendors, mechanical bull rides and train rides.
An outdoor Catholic Mass with live mariachi will also begin at noon, offering a community-centered start to the day.
At 1 p.m., Skytown Trokita Fest and the carnival will open. Dancing Horses are scheduled for 2 p.m., followed by Los Plebes del 402 at 3 p.m. and Los Tlacololeros at 5 p.m.
The weekend lineup also highlights Mariachi Los Gallitos and other regional music acts, adding to a celebration built around culture, music and family gathering.

A weekend rooted in community
Cinco de Schuyler has become more than a festival weekend. It is a space where families, local businesses, artists, performers and neighbors come together to celebrate heritage and community pride.
From the mural experience to folklórico, mariachi, food vendors, contests and live bands, the event offers something for children, parents, grandparents and visitors from surrounding communities.
