The Hooper native, four-time Olympic medalist and LOVB Nebraska co-owner will continue her professional volleyball career after previously saying the 2026 season would be her last.

Jordan Larson is coming back to LOVB Nebraska for the 2026-27 LOVB Pro season, extending one of the most decorated volleyball careers in Nebraska and U.S. sports history.

Larson had said before the 2026 season that it would be her final year as a professional player. The Hooper native has since decided to continue playing for LOVB Nebraska, the Omaha-based professional women’s volleyball team she also co-owns.

Larson will return for a third season with LOVB Nebraska

Larson’s return keeps one of Nebraska volleyball’s most recognizable names on the court for LOVB Nebraska.

She finished the 2026 LOVB Pro season with 267 points, 234 kills and 15 aces. Her points total ranked sixth in the league, while her kills ranked fifth. Her 15 aces were tied for fourth in LOVB Pro and led LOVB Nebraska.

Larson was named the 2026 LOVB Best Outside Hitter and selected to the 2026 LOVB Icons First Team. She had earned LOVB Icons Second Team honors in 2025.

The 2026-27 season will be her third with LOVB Nebraska. Larson has also been a co-owner of the team since 2025 and will continue in that role.

A Nebraska volleyball career that started in Hooper

Larson’s return carries extra weight in Nebraska because her volleyball career is closely tied to the state.

She is from Hooper, played club volleyball with Premier Nebraska and became one of the top players in University of Nebraska volleyball history. At Nebraska, Larson was a three-time All-American and helped the Huskers win the 2006 NCAA championship.

Her No. 10 jersey was retired by Nebraska in 2017. She was inducted into the Nebraska Athletics Hall of Fame in 2020.

Larson also added another honor this summer when she was inducted into the National High School Hall of Fame on June 29 for her accomplishments at Logan View High School.

Larson is one of the most decorated U.S. volleyball players

Larson joined the U.S. Women’s National Team in 2009 and built one of the most successful careers in American indoor volleyball.

She helped the United States win its first Olympic gold medal in women’s indoor volleyball at the Tokyo Olympic Games, where she was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player and Best Outside Hitter.

Larson also won Olympic silver medals at the 2012 London Games and the 2024 Paris Games, plus bronze at the 2016 Rio Games. She became the first U.S. indoor volleyball athlete to win four Olympic medals.

Her international résumé also includes the 2014 FIVB World Championship, multiple FIVB World Grand Prix and Volleyball Nations League titles, and two FIVB Club World Championship titles.

LOVB Nebraska continues building around state volleyball culture

LOVB Nebraska is part of League One Volleyball, a professional women’s volleyball league that launched LOVB Pro in 2025.

The Omaha-based team represents a state with one of the country’s strongest volleyball cultures, from high school and club programs to the University of Nebraska and professional volleyball.

Larson’s return keeps a Nebraska-born Olympic champion, former Husker and team co-owner on the roster as LOVB Nebraska prepares for the 2026-27 season. The full roster is scheduled to be released Monday, July 13.
