From June 5 to 7, Nebraska weekend events include First Friday art activities in Lincoln, farmers markets in Omaha and Lincoln, museum tours and a free family movie in Papillion.

Weekend plans are taking shape across Nebraska, with art, local food, history and outdoor activities scheduled from Friday through Sunday.
Lincoln will begin the weekend with First Friday events at galleries, shops and creative spaces downtown. Saturday brings farmers markets in Lincoln and Omaha, guided tours at The Durham Museum and a free movie night in Papillion. Omaha Farmers Market continues Sunday morning at Aksarben Village.
First Friday brings art, music and crafts to downtown Lincoln

First Friday returns to downtown Lincoln on Friday, June 5, with events at galleries, bookstores, shops and other businesses across the area.
Hours vary by location, with many receptions beginning around 5 p.m. and the final events winding down later in the evening.
Clements Noyes Art Gallery, 119 S. 9th St., will host the opening reception for “Expressions in Art” from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The evening will include live music by Jack Zeleny and treats from The Rabbit Hole Bakery.
Gilded Gecko at Tower Square, 1300 P St., will welcome artist vendors and specialty gift makers from 5 to 9 p.m. Visitors can browse paintings, carvings, photography, jewelry, glasswork, crochet and other items. Micah Leamer will perform from 6 to 9 p.m.
Handspoken Fair Trade, 140 N. 8th St., will hold a free craft night from 6 to 8 p.m. The activity is open to all ages, and the craft changes each month.
Trade-A-Tape/Comic Center, 145 S. 9th St., will host local writer Michael Bettendorf and local artist Ethan Nichols from 6 to 8 p.m. Visitors can meet the guests, request autographs and browse their work.
Other First Friday stops include Burkholder Art Studio & Galleries, Crescent Moon Coffee, Gallery 9, Nebraska History Museum, Sheldon Museum of Art and several additional downtown locations.
Haymarket Farmers’ Market opens Saturday morning in Lincoln

The Haymarket Farmers’ Market runs Saturday, June 6, from 8 a.m. to noon at 7th and P streets in Lincoln.
The market continues rain or shine and includes produce, baked goods, coffee, tacos, burritos, hot sauces, jams, crafts, flowers and other locally made products.
Performers are usually stationed at Iron Horse Park, near 7th and Q streets, between 9 and 11 a.m.
Visitors should leave pets at home. Purchases begin when the market whistle sounds at 8 a.m.
Omaha Farmers Market returns to Old Market

Omaha Farmers Market will open Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at 11th and Jackson streets in Old Market.
The 2026 season continues through Oct. 10, giving shoppers a weekly place to find local produce, food and handmade goods in downtown Omaha.
Shoppers can use EBT cards to purchase SNAP tokens and receive Double Up Food Bucks vouchers. Pets are welcome, and garage parking and street parking are available near the market.
The Durham Museum offers two guided tours Saturday

Families interested in history and exhibits can plan a Saturday visit to The Durham Museum, 801 S. 10th St. in Omaha.
The “Heroes & Villains” Guided Exhibit Tour begins at 11 a.m. The Saturday tour series continues through Aug. 29.
At 1 p.m., the museum will offer a guided tour of Union Station. The tour explores the history and architecture of the building that now houses The Durham Museum.
Visitors can check the museum’s admission information and parking details before heading out.
Free movie night comes to SumTur Amphitheater in Papillion

SumTur Amphitheater will host a free family movie night Saturday, June 6, from 8 to 11 p.m. in Papillion.
The SumTur Free Movie Series will feature “Zootopia 2” and “Blue Sunday” as part of its June schedule of movies under the stars.
Families should plan for an outdoor evening and check the event page for weather updates before leaving.
Omaha Farmers Market continues Sunday at Aksarben Village-

The Sunday edition of Omaha Farmers Market will run June 7 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 67th Street and Mercy Road in Aksarben Village.
The market accepts SNAP and Double Up Food Bucks, and pets are welcome. Garage and street parking are available around the market area.
The Aksarben Village season continues every Sunday through Oct. 11.
